The Barcelona Dragons were a professional American football team based in Barcelona, Spain, that played in the World League of American Football in 1991 and 1992, then in the league's European revival as NFL Europe from 1995 to 2003. 1991 — The First World Bowl. Barcelona was one of the World League's ten founding franchises in 1991 and immediately reached the inaugural World Bowl, falling to the London Monarchs 21–0 at Wembley in the only shutout in World Bowl history. The Dragons finished 8–2 and announced themselves as a power.

1992 — The Original WLAF Closes. The Dragons remained competitive in the league's second season, but the NFL suspended the World League after 1992. The franchise went dormant along with the rest of the circuit.
