About the St. Louis Stars (NLB)

The St. Louis Stars were a Negro National League franchise that played in St. Louis across two distinct eras: the original 1922–1931 NNL run (which produced Hall of Famers Cool Papa Bell, Mule Suttles, and Willie Wells) and the second 1937–1939 NNL run. The Stars played at Stars Park (named for the franchise) and were one of the most successful franchises of the original NNL era, winning league pennants in 1928, 1930, and 1931.

After Major League Baseball's December 16, 2020 reclassification of the seven Negro Leagues operating between 1920 and 1948 as major leagues, every NLB-era player from this franchise is now an MLB-recognized major leaguer.
