About the Atlanta Black Crackers

The Atlanta Black Crackers were a Negro Leagues franchise that played in Atlanta from 1919 through approximately 1952. The franchise was a longtime member of the Negro Southern League and briefly joined the Negro American League. The Black Crackers played their home games at Spiller Park (later renamed Ponce de Leon Park, the home of the white Atlanta Crackers) on alternating days when the Crackers were on the road. The franchise produced multiple players who later joined integrated MLB rosters in the 1950s.

After Major League Baseball's December 16, 2020 reclassification of the seven Negro Leagues operating between 1920 and 1948 as major leagues, every NLB-era player from this franchise is now an MLB-recognized major leaguer.
