The Shreveport Pirates played two seasons in Canada's major professional football league from 1994 to 1995 at Independence Stadium. The Pirates were created when an Ottawa-based ownership group's bid to relocate that franchise to the U.S. was rejected — and a new American expansion franchise was awarded to Shreveport in its place.

Head coach Forrest Gregg — the Pro Football Hall of Famer and former NFL Packer / Cowboy / Bengals coach — led the Pirates across both seasons. Despite strong local fan support, the Pirates finished last in their division both years, and the franchise was plagued by an infamous ownership dispute (capped by a public incident in which an owner's lawyer was caught trying to flee with a seized car). The Pirates folded after the 1995 season — one of the more chaotic franchises in Historic Canadian Football history. Stars included future Hall of Famers Joe Montford, Elfrid Payton, and Uzooma Okeke.

  • To order a fully blank jersey, check the "Leave blank" box. Blank jerseys still require full production time — we don't keep them in stock.

Once your order is placed:

  • Changes can only be made within 48 hours of purchase. After 48 hours, the order has entered production and we can't modify it.
  • Cancellations after 48 hours are subject to a 20% restocking fee.

Construction options

Many jerseys offer choices like application method (replica/printed vs sewn tackle twill), sleeve length, or add-on patches. The available options appear on the customization screen as you go through it.

Custom measurements

We can produce jerseys in custom measurements including women's and youth sizes. We can also modify other details on the jerseys shown on the site. For these requests, email custom@royalretros.com before ordering.

Blank-jersey exchanges

Custom jerseys ordered blank (no name or number) can be exchanged for another size or for store credit. Custom jerseys with a name or number printed/sewn are final sale.

Production timeframe

Custom jerseys are made-to-order and ship in 3-7 weeks depending on construction style. The exact lead time for the style you choose is shown on the Decoration Type screen during customization.

Expedited shipping

Choosing an expedited shipping method does not speed up production, it only affects how we ship the order once it's been made. If you need your jersey by a specific date, contact us before ordering.

Standard shipping starts at $5.99. Free Economy shipping on US orders $125+. International shipping available to most countries.
