The Riders were coached by Mike Riley with Cowboys legend Tom Landry serving as GM. The team was solid, but despite a 7-3 in 1992, did not qualify for the playoffs in a competitive division. When the league suspended operations following the 1992 season the Riders were accepted into the CFL, but folded before the season began. Jason Garrett and John Layfield (a.k.a Bradshaw) played for the Riders.
