The New York Dragons played eight seasons in the AFL from 2001 to 2008 at Nassau Coliseum on Long Island. The Dragons gave the New York metro market its longest-running AFL presence, building a strong Long Island following across the league's peak era.
The franchise folded after 2008 when the AFL went on hiatus, ending the longest AFL run in New York history. The Dragons reached the playoffs multiple times during their tenure and remain one of the most-collected New York-area arena football teams.
