The Mississippi Headhunters were a professional indoor football franchise intended for the Mississippi Gulf Coast, with plans to play at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi. The club was organized within af2 around 2005, having grown out of a relocated franchise, and was slated to bring developmental indoor football to the region. Those plans were undone when Hurricane Katrina struck the coast in 2005 and flooded the intended home venue; subsequent efforts to reestablish the team never came to fruition, and the Headhunters folded without ever taking the field for a regular-season game.
