The Las Vegas Quicksilvers were a one-and-done curiosity in North American Soccer League (NASL), playing their single season in 1977 after relocating from San Diego. The club gave Las Vegas its first major professional sports team and opened the year in style with a home win over the famed New York Cosmos at Las Vegas Stadium. Adding genuine star power, the Quicksilvers fielded Portuguese great Eusebio for a stretch of that lone campaign. The team finished near the bottom of its division and was moved away after just one summer in the desert.
