The Charlotte Rage played four seasons in the AFL from 1992 to 1995 at the Charlotte Coliseum. The Rage were among the league's mid-1990s expansion class that pushed arena football into the Southeast as the AFL approached its growth peak.
The franchise folded after 1995 as the early- to mid-1990s saw heavy turnover among smaller-market AFL teams. The Rage represented Charlotte's lone AFL chapter before the city's pro football attention shifted toward the NFL Panthers.
