Team info:

The Atlantic Schooners were a proposed team set to play in the Canadian league in 1984. The team was approved by the league and a stadium was to be built in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Ultimately, funding problems caused the team to miss deadlines, including getting the stadium built and the team never played a game. The application was withdrawn in 1985. In 2018, partially inspired by the success of the Touchdown Atlantic series, the name was revived and a new application was submitted to the league. That bid faced the same hurdle as the original, and was withdrawn in 2023. The quest for the league’s 10th franchise continues to this day.
