The New York/New Jersey Knights played two seasons in the WLAF / NFL Europe from 1991 to 1992 at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, sharing the venue with the NFL's Giants and Jets. The Knights gave the New York metro market its first spring-football franchise and brought top-tier WLAF talent into one of the largest media markets in North America.

The Knights produced one of the league's better records over their two seasons but never broke through to a World Bowl appearance. Like every other North American franchise, the Knights were folded when the WLAF suspended operations after 1992 and relaunched as a European-only competition in 1995.
