Team: Sacramento Surge
Years Active: 1991–1992
Home: Hughes Stadium (1991) · Hornet Stadium (1992) — Sacramento, CA

The Sacramento Surge were one of the original ten franchises of the World League of American Football when it launched in 1991, playing home games at Hughes Stadium before moving to Hornet Stadium on the Sacramento State campus in 1992. Quarterback David Archer led the Surge to a World Bowl '92 win over the Orlando Thunder, 21–17 in Montreal, closing out the league's second and final North American season.

Head coach Kay Stephenson built the Surge around a vertical passing attack suited to the league's wide-open rules. After 1992 the league suspended North American operations, and the Surge, like every U.S. and Canadian franchise, was disbanded when it relaunched as a European-only competition in 1995.
