The Kansas City Brigade played three seasons in the AFL from 2006 to 2008 at the Sprint Center. The Brigade were one of the AFL II era's late expansion entries and gave Kansas City its first arena football franchise.
After the AFL hiatus, the franchise returned in 2010 as the Kansas City Command and played through 2012 before folding. The Brigade name represents the original Kansas City AFL chapter and was used throughout the team's pre-hiatus run.
