The Toronto Arenas hold a foundational place in Legacy Hockey history — they were the very first team to win the Stanley Cup as a member of the new major professional hockey league formed in November 1917. Operated by the Toronto Arena Company, the Arenas were coached by Dick Carroll and managed by Charlie Querrie.

In the inaugural 1917–18 season, Toronto won the league championship and then captured the Stanley Cup with a three-games-to-two series win over the Pacific Coast Hockey Association champion Vancouver Millionaires — the first Stanley Cup contested between the new league and the PCHA. The team's name wasn't even engraved on the trophy until the Cup was redesigned in 1948, when "1918 Toronto Arenas" was finally added to its collar. The 1918–19 season was a disaster as mounting legal bills forced the Arenas to sell off their stars, and the team won just five games. In December 1919, the franchise was sold for $5,000 to a group led by Querrie and renamed the Toronto St. Patricks — the franchise that would, eight years later, become the Toronto Maple Leafs.

  • To order a fully blank jersey, check the "Leave blank" box. Blank jerseys still require full production time — we don't keep them in stock.

Once your order is placed:

  • Changes can only be made within 48 hours of purchase. After 48 hours, the order has entered production and we can't modify it.
  • Cancellations after 48 hours are subject to a 20% restocking fee.

Construction options

Many jerseys offer choices like application method (replica/printed vs sewn tackle twill), sleeve length, or add-on patches. The available options appear on the customization screen as you go through it.

Custom measurements

We can produce jerseys in custom measurements including women's and youth sizes. We can also modify other details on the jerseys shown on the site. For these requests, email custom@royalretros.com before ordering.

Blank-jersey exchanges

Custom jerseys ordered blank (no name or number) can be exchanged for another size or for store credit. Custom jerseys with a name or number printed/sewn are final sale.

Production timeframe

Custom jerseys are made-to-order and ship in 3-7 weeks depending on construction style. The exact lead time for the style you choose is shown on the Decoration Type screen during customization.

Expedited shipping

Choosing an expedited shipping method does not speed up production, it only affects how we ship the order once it's been made. If you need your jersey by a specific date, contact us before ordering.

Domestic rates

Standard shipping starts at $5.99. Free Economy shipping on US orders $125+. International shipping available to most countries.
