The Denver Dynamos gave the Mile High City its first taste of major professional soccer, joining North American Soccer League (NASL) as an expansion club for the 1974 and 1975 seasons. Playing their home matches at Mile High Stadium, the young franchise struggled in the standings during both campaigns, never quite breaking through to the postseason. Even so, the Dynamos planted a flag for the sport in Colorado during soccer's mid-1970s surge across North America. After two seasons the franchise was relocated, ending the brief Denver run.
