The New York Stars were charter members of the World Football League (WFL) in 1974, bringing the league's boldest experiment to the country's biggest market. They played at Downing Stadium on Randalls Island — a remote, crumbling venue that made drawing crowds nearly impossible — and struggled at the gate from the start. The Stars relocated to Charlotte mid-season, where they eventually became the Charlotte Hornets. New York's WFL chapter lasted barely half a season, a footnote in the city's long football history.

417 Helmets' policy summary:
- 14-day window from date of purchase
- A return authorization is required before shipping anything back
- Customer is responsible for return shipping
- 20% restocking fee on returns
- Custom orders custom helmets, decals, stripes, and player numbers are final sale
- Exchanges are only between non-custom mini helmets (different team allowed; different style shell or mask is not)
