The Los Angeles White Sox began as a team of NLB all-stars in the California Winter League, where they competed against both Black and white teams. They were one of the few Black teams of their time to own their own ballpark. White Sox Park, located on the southwest corner of East Fourth and South Clarence Streets in the Boyle Heights section of L.A., had some of the largest dimensions of all time — measuring 546 feet to center.

It is unclear what happened to the team, which disappeared from league records in the late 1920s, but the White Sox reappeared in the West Coast Negro League in 1946. Notable players included Oscar Charleston, Biz Mackey, and "Bullet" Rogan.
