The Dallas Renegades launched as a charter franchise of the 2020 XFL revival. Playing at Globe Life Park in Arlington — the former home of the Texas Rangers, retrofitted for football — the Renegades played their inaugural season under head coach Bob Stoops, the college coaching legend at Oklahoma making his return to coaching.

When the XFL relaunched in 2023 under Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and RedBird Capital ownership, the franchise rebranded as the Arlington Renegades and went on to win the 2023 XFL Championship — defeating the DC Defenders 35–26 in the title game. The franchise continues today in the UFL, making the original Dallas Renegades jersey the first chapter of one of the most successful franchises in modern spring football.
