The Orlando Apollos played the abbreviated 2019 season in the AAF at UCF's Spectrum Stadium (now the Bounce House) under head coach Steve Spurrier. The Apollos were the class of the league, racing out to a 7–1 record across the eight weeks of play before the AAF suspended operations in April 2019.

Quarterback Garrett Gilbert led the Apollos offense, and the team had clinched a playoff berth and was poised to host the championship game when the league folded. Spurrier's spring-football return remains one of the most successful coaching tenures of any modern alternative pro football league.
