The Montreal Concordes took the field at Olympic Stadium in 1982 under owner Charles Bronfman. Their first season was a hard one — a nine-game losing streak to close the year left them 2–14 — but the roster featured quarterback Luc Tousignant, one of only two Québécois quarterbacks ever to start a game in the league.

The Concordes rebuilt steadily, reaching the playoffs in 1984 and again in 1985, when a home East Semifinal win over Ottawa sent them to the East Final. That 1985 run was the high point of the club's four seasons, and the Concordes name was retired after that year.
