The Buffalo Stallions joined the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) as an expansion team in 1979 — the league's second season. The Stallions never made it out of the first round of the playoffs across three postseason appearances, and the franchise's final two seasons saw the team miss the playoffs entirely as attendance dwindled.
The Stallions folded in 1984. Notable players included Portuguese legend Eusébio (in his late career) and Jim May.
