Team: Broome Dusters
Years Active: 1973-1977

The Broome Dusters were established in 1973 as charter members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL). Their logo and mascot was designed by B.C. comic strip creator Johnny Hart, who lived in Binghamton, NY where the team was based. The team was a huge success at the gate and on the ice, making several post-season appearances and selling out the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. When the NAHL folded, the city welcomed the relocated American league Providence Reds, who changed their name to the Binghamton Dusters,
