The Chicago Bruisers were one of the four charter franchises of the AFL when the league debuted in 1987, playing at the Rosemont Horizon (now Allstate Arena) in suburban Chicago. The Bruisers reached the ArenaBowl in 1988, losing to the Detroit Drive.

The franchise played three seasons in Chicago before folding after 1989. Head coach Perry Moss guided the early Bruisers teams during the league's foundational years, and the Chicago franchise helped establish arena football in the Midwest before the city was later represented by the Chicago Rush in the 2000s.

  • To order a fully blank jersey, check the "Leave blank" box. Blank jerseys still require full production time — we don't keep them in stock.

Once your order is placed:

  • Changes can only be made within 48 hours of purchase. After 48 hours, the order has entered production and we can't modify it.
  • Cancellations after 48 hours are subject to a 20% restocking fee.

Construction options

Many jerseys offer choices like application method (replica/printed vs sewn tackle twill), sleeve length, or add-on patches. The available options appear on the customization screen as you go through it.

Custom measurements

We can produce jerseys in custom measurements including women's and youth sizes. We can also modify other details on the jerseys shown on the site. For these requests, email custom@royalretros.com before ordering.

Blank-jersey exchanges

Custom jerseys ordered blank (no name or number) can be exchanged for another size or for store credit. Custom jerseys with a name or number printed/sewn are final sale.

Shipping

Production timeframe

Custom jerseys are made-to-order and ship in 3-7 weeks depending on construction style. The exact lead time for the style you choose is shown on the Decoration Type screen during customization.

Expedited shipping

Choosing an expedited shipping method does not speed up production, it only affects how we ship the order once it's been made. If you need your jersey by a specific date, contact us before ordering.

Domestic rates

Standard shipping starts at $5.99. Free Economy shipping on US orders $125+. International shipping available to most countries.
