Team: Columbus Chill
Years Active: 1991–1999
Home: Ohio Expo Center Coliseum — Columbus, OH

The Columbus Chill were one of the most inventive franchises in 1990s minor league hockey, known as much for outlandish promotions and the slogan "Not Your Common Cold" as for their play on the ice. Playing from 1991 to 1999 at the Ohio Expo Center Coliseum — a 5,600-seat barn that opened in 1918 and was the oldest building in pro hockey — the Chill sold out 83 consecutive games.

The Chill turned Columbus hockey into a cultural event, drawing fans who might never otherwise have set foot in an arena and proving minor league hockey could be as much entertainment as sport.
