Goalie Cut is a cut, not a size. It’s built to go on over a chest protector and arm pads, with short, wide sleeves so the trapper and blocker clear. Goalie Cut is tackle twill only. If you’re not playing goal in it, order a player size.

Custom measurements are available on Pro Stitched (tackle twill) jerseys only. Sublimated jerseys are machine cut to the sizes above and can’t be made to custom measurements. If you need custom sizing, choose Pro Stitched and add your measurements in the order notes at checkout, or contact us first.

How to Measure

Chest Measurement
Lay your favorite jersey flat on a table. Measure across the chest from one armpit seam to the other, keeping the tape measure straight. Double that number to get your full chest measurement in inches. For the most accurate results, compare this to the chest range listed in the size chart.
Length Measurement
Measure from the highest point of the shoulder (just beside the collar) straight down to the bottom hem of the jersey.
Fit Tip
Our jerseys are designed with a relaxed, athletic cut. If you prefer a slimmer fit, consider ordering one size down.

Founded as the New England Whalers in the World Hockey Association in 1972 and relocating to Hartford in 1974, the franchise joined the top tier of professional hockey in the 1979 merger and was renamed the Hartford Whalers. The club built its identity around Hall of Famer Ron Francis, who anchored the team from 1981 to 1991, alongside WHA-era veterans Gordie Howe, Bobby Hull, Dave Keon, and Mark Howe.

A small-market club with a passionate New England fanbase, the Whalers were known for their whale-tail logo and the goal song "Brass Bonanza." Despite modest crowds at the 15,635-seat Civic Center, the team remained a fixture of professional hockey for nearly two decades before relocating to North Carolina in 1997.

This is a historical representation of a defunct team, not affiliated with or endorsed by any active team, league, or organization.

How to order

Type the number and/or name you'd like on the jersey in the customization fields. You can leave the name field blank if you only want a number.
Names and numbers are made in ALL CAPS by default. If you want a specific style — such as a lowercase letter or mixed case — please add to the order notes, and/or email custom@royalretros.com.
To order a fully blank jersey, check the "Leave blank" box. Blank jerseys still require full production time â€” we don't keep them in stock.

Important review carefully before ordering

Once your order is placed:

Changes can only be made within 48 hours of purchase. After 48 hours, the order has entered production and we can't modify it.
Cancellations after 48 hours are subject to a 20% restocking fee.

Construction options

Many jerseys offer choices like application method (replica/printed vs sewn tackle twill), sleeve length, or add-on patches. The available options appear on the customization screen as you go through it.

Custom measurements

We can produce jerseys in custom measurements including women's and youth sizes. We can also modify other details on the jerseys shown on the site. For these requests, email custom@royalretros.com before ordering.

Blank-jersey exchanges

Custom jerseys ordered blank (no name or number) can be exchanged for another size or for store credit. Custom jerseys with a name or number printed/sewn are final sale.

Shipping

Production timeframe

Custom jerseys are made-to-order and ship in 3-7 weeks depending on construction style. The exact lead time for the style you choose is shown on the Decoration Type screen during customization.

Expedited shipping

Choosing an expedited shipping method does not speed up production, it only affects how we ship the order once it's been made. If you need your jersey by a specific date, contact us before ordering.

Domestic rates

Standard shipping starts at $5.99. Free Economy shipping on US orders $125+. International shipping available to most countries.
