The Floridians played the final two ABA seasons of the Miami Floridians franchise, from 1970 to 1972, after owner Ned Doyle replaced the entire roster and dropped the city name. The team's orange-and-magenta uniforms, among the most striking in pro basketball history, date to this two-season era.
The franchise looked to relocate but folded instead after the 1971–72 season.
