Quebec Sports History

Quebec City hosted the WHA Nordiques (1972–1979) then the NHL Nordiques (1979–1995) before the franchise relocated to Denver as the Colorado Avalanche (which immediately won the 1996 Stanley Cup). Montreal hosted the IL Royals (1939–1960), the AAA affiliate that gave Jackie Robinson his pro debut in 1946. The Montreal Concordes ran 1982–1986 as a Canadian football franchise. Royal Retros honors all of it.
