Latin American baseball is the deepest baseball culture outside the United States, predating MLB integration by decades. The Havana Sugar Kings (1954–1960) competed in the International League as the first Cuban-based franchise in organized baseball, eventually relocating to Jersey City after the Cuban Revolution.
