The Reds were a powerhouse in their early years winning 8 championships in their first 30 seasons. Although the final 20 seasons were not as successful on the ice, attendance remained strong throughout the 1960's and 70's. The team was sold following the 1977 season and Providence was left without hockey until the Bruins began play in 1992.
