While the team had no official name (many called them the Darby Daisies), it did not prevent the Hilldale Club from becoming one of the greatest teams in Negro Leagues history. With a loaded roster of hall of famers, the Hilldale club won three straight championships in the 1920's before folding due to the great depression in 1932.
