The Colorado Crush played six seasons in the AFL from 2003 to 2008 at the Pepsi Center, co-owned by Denver Broncos owner Pat Bowlen, John Elway, and Stan Kroenke. The Crush captured ArenaBowl XIX in 2005, defeating the Georgia Force 51–48.

The 2005 championship made Colorado the second Denver-market franchise to win an AFL title after the original Denver Dynamite captured ArenaBowl I in 1987. Head coach Mike Dailey guided the Crush through their title run before the franchise folded with the AFL hiatus after 2008.
