Federal League

The Federal League (FL) was a rival major baseball league, It played its first season, 1913, as a minor league before declaring major league status a year later. It played two seasons. After the 1915 season, the owners in the American and National circuits bought out half of the Federal League owners. Two other FL owners were allowed to buy teams in the older leagues.
