One of the original teams in the American Basketball Association (ABA), the Buccaneers had early success and made it to the first ever ABA Finals but lost in seven games to The Pittsburgh Pipers. The team made another deep playoff run the following year but attendance remained low. After moving home games to Tulane in its third and final season, the team was sold and moved to Tennessee in 1970 and became the Memphis Pros.
