Originally named the Larks, the franchise was sold to Bill Ringsby shortly before the first season. Ringsby included his company name in the logo and changed the name to Rockets, the company's best selling truck model. During the 1968 season, Lonnie Wright left the Denver Broncos and joined the Rockets where he would stay for 4 seasons. Following the 1972 season, Ringsby sold the team and it would play its final season as the Rockets in 1973-74.
