The Colorado Rockies — not to be confused with the current Major League Baseball franchise of the same name — played six seasons of major professional hockey in Denver from 1976 to 1982 after the franchise relocated from Kansas City. The Rockies played at McNichols Sports Arena and were anchored by some of the most colorful names of late-1970s pro hockey: winger Lanny McDonald (acquired in 1979), winger Wilf Paiement, and defenseman Barry Beck.
Despite the talented roster, the Rockies struggled financially throughout their Denver run. Owner Jack Vickers' petroleum business collapsed in 1978, leaving him unable to pay the lease at McNichols Arena — and the team never received any revenue from parking, concessions, or advertising. The franchise was sold to New Jersey shipping tycoon John McMullen in 1982, who promptly relocated to East Rutherford and renamed the team the New Jersey Devils. The Rockies' six-season Denver run was the middle leg of one of the most-traveled franchises in Legacy Hockey history (Kansas City → Denver → New Jersey), and the city of Denver would not see major-league hockey again until the Quebec Nordiques relocated as the Colorado Avalanche in 1995.

How to order

- To order a fully blank jersey, check the "Leave blank" box. Blank jerseys still require full production time — we don't keep them in stock.
Important review carefully before ordering
Once your order is placed:
- Changes can only be made within 48 hours of purchase. After 48 hours, the order has entered production and we can't modify it.
- Cancellations after 48 hours are subject to a 20% restocking fee.
Construction options
Many jerseys offer choices like application method (replica/printed vs sewn tackle twill), sleeve length, or add-on patches. The available options appear on the customization screen as you go through it.
Custom measurements
We can produce jerseys in custom measurements including women's and youth sizes. We can also modify other details on the jerseys shown on the site. For these requests, email custom@royalretros.com before ordering.
Blank-jersey exchanges
Custom jerseys ordered blank (no name or number) can be exchanged for another size or for store credit. Custom jerseys with a name or number printed/sewn are final sale.

Custom jerseys are made-to-order and ship in 3-7 weeks depending on construction style. The exact lead time for the style you choose is shown on the Decoration Type screen during customization.
Expedited shipping
Choosing an expedited shipping method does not speed up production, it only affects how we ship the order once it's been made. If you need your jersey by a specific date, contact us before ordering.
