Home: Legion Field — Birmingham, AL
The Birmingham Fire played two seasons of the WLAF from 1991 to 1992 at Legion Field, the longtime football venue that had already hosted multiple Birmingham pro franchises. Coached by Chan Gailey, the Fire made the playoffs both years, reaching the semifinals in 1991 and again in 1992, and built one of the league's stronger North American programs.
The Fire folded along with the rest of the U.S. and Canadian franchises when the WLAF suspended operations after 1992, later relaunching as the Europe-only NFL Europe in 1995.
