The San Antonio Wings played one season in the World Football League in 1975. The team had previously been the Florida Blazers which narrowly lost the World Bowl the previous year after a controversial call. Following the season, their owner was sentenced to jail for cocaine trafficking and the team moved to San Antonio. Behind quarterback Johnnie Walton, the Wings had a 7-6 record before the league folded midseason.Â
