The Ottawa Nationals were one of the twelve founding franchises of the World Hockey Association (WHA), playing their lone 1972–73 season at the Ottawa Civic Centre and giving the Canadian capital its first major-league professional hockey team since the original Ottawa Senators of the 1930s. The Nationals built a competitive inaugural roster and finished the regular season with a strong 35–39–4 record.

Despite the solid on-ice product, the Nationals struggled with attendance and arena issues across their lone season. Ownership relocated the franchise to Toronto for the 1973–74 season, where it would continue as the Toronto Toros. The Nationals' single WHA season is one of the shortest among the league's twelve original franchises, but the Ottawa hockey identity laid groundwork for the modern era's return of professional hockey to Canada's capital.

  • To order a fully blank jersey, check the "Leave blank" box. Blank jerseys still require full production time — we don't keep them in stock.

Once your order is placed:

  • Changes can only be made within 48 hours of purchase. After 48 hours, the order has entered production and we can't modify it.
  • Cancellations after 48 hours are subject to a 20% restocking fee.

Construction options

Many jerseys offer choices like application method (replica/printed vs sewn tackle twill), sleeve length, or add-on patches. The available options appear on the customization screen as you go through it.

Custom measurements

We can produce jerseys in custom measurements including women's and youth sizes. We can also modify other details on the jerseys shown on the site. For these requests, email custom@royalretros.com before ordering.

Blank-jersey exchanges

Custom jerseys ordered blank (no name or number) can be exchanged for another size or for store credit. Custom jerseys with a name or number printed/sewn are final sale.

Production timeframe

Custom jerseys are made-to-order and ship in 3-7 weeks depending on construction style. The exact lead time for the style you choose is shown on the Decoration Type screen during customization.

Expedited shipping

Choosing an expedited shipping method does not speed up production, it only affects how we ship the order once it's been made. If you need your jersey by a specific date, contact us before ordering.

Standard shipping starts at $5.99. Free Economy shipping on US orders $125+. International shipping available to most countries.
