The Wanderers were one of the most successful teams of their time, winning Lord Stanley's Cup four times in five years. They featured 16 hall of fame players, including, Ernie Russell, Lester Patrick, Gordon Roberts. and Jack Marshall. The team joined the major league for that circuit's inaugural season in 1917, but just six games into the season their arena burned down. As a result the team was forced to disband.
