The Las Vegas Sting played two seasons in the AFL in 1994 and 1995 at the Thomas & Mack Center on the UNLV campus. The Sting gave Las Vegas its first arena football franchise during the AFL's mid-1990s growth period.
The team folded after 1995 as the AFL consolidated, but Las Vegas would return to arena football a decade later with the Las Vegas Gladiators (2003–2007). The Sting represents the city's earliest AFL chapter.
