Team: Boston Beacons
Years Active: 1968
Home: Fenway Park — Boston, MA

The Beacons were meant to be a charter club of the 1967 National Professional Soccer League, but Boston withdrew before that first season for lack of a suitable stadium. The club finally took the field for the newly merged North American Soccer League's debut season in 1968, playing its home matches at Fenway Park.

It was a short, rough go. The Beacons finished 9-17-6 and missed the playoffs, and their sixteen home dates drew a combined 64,064 fans — an average of just over 4,000 a game. Ownership pulled the plug that October, and Boston would not field another club in the league until the Minutemen arrived in 1974.
