The Tulsa Oilers played 20 seasons in the CHL and were often referred to as the "Ice Oilers" to avoid confusion with the baseball team of the same name. The team was notable for 5 of its players being on the Miracle on Ice team in 1980. In 1984, the Oilers' ownership went bankrupt, but the other teams in the league paid for the team to continue to keep the schedule even. As a result, the Oilers played only road games for the final 6 weeks of the season. Despite this, the Oilers would go on to win the 1984 Adams Cup in what would prove to be the final game for the league which folded a month later.
