The Austin Wranglers played four seasons in the AFL from 2004 to 2007 at the Frank Erwin Center on the University of Texas campus. The Wranglers were the league's only entry into the Austin market during the AFL II era and competed alongside the Dallas Desperados, Houston Thunderbears, and Texas Terror as Texas-based AFL franchises.
After the 2007 season the team moved to the developmental af2 league for 2008, then folded. The Wranglers' Austin run represents the AFL's deepest reach into the Texas Hill Country market.
