The Spiders played in the senior circuit and gained their nickname when a team executive who was also a sportswriter quipped that with the team's skinny players and black uniforms they looked like Spiders. The name stuck, and the team was competitive for most of its history, winning a championship in 1895. In 1899, ownership bought the St Louis Perfectos and moved all of the Spiders' star players to St Louis. With basically a minor league roster, the Spiders went 20–134 which still stands as the worst record in major league history.

How to order
- Type the number and/or name you'd like on the jersey in the customization fields. You can leave the name field blank if you only want a number.
- To order a fully blank jersey, check the "Leave blank" box. Blank jerseys still require full production time — we don't keep them in stock.
Important review carefully before ordering
Once your order is placed:
- Changes can only be made within 48 hours of purchase. After 48 hours, the order has entered production and we can't modify it.
- Cancellations after 48 hours are subject to a 20% restocking fee.
Construction options
Many jerseys offer choices like application method (replica/printed vs sewn tackle twill), sleeve length, or add-on patches. The available options appear on the customization screen as you go through it.
Custom measurements
We can produce jerseys in custom measurements including women's and youth sizes. We can also modify other details on the jerseys shown on the site. For these requests, email custom@royalretros.com before ordering.
Blank-jersey exchanges
Custom jerseys ordered blank (no name or number) can be exchanged for another size or for store credit. Custom jerseys with a name or number printed/sewn are final sale.

Production timeframe
Custom jerseys are made-to-order and ship in 3-7 weeks depending on construction style. The exact lead time for the style you choose is shown on the Decoration Type screen during customization.
Expedited shipping
Choosing an expedited shipping method does not speed up production, it only affects how we ship the order once it's been made. If you need your jersey by a specific date, contact us before ordering.

Standard shipping starts at $5.99. Free Economy shipping on US orders $125+. International shipping available to most countries.

- Custom jerseys ordered blank (no name or number) can be exchanged for another size or for store credit.
- If a jersey arrives damaged or incorrect, we'll remake it at no charge or issue a full refund. email info@royalretros.com within 7 days of delivery with your order number and a photo.
