Team: San Francisco Spiders
Years Active: 1995–1996 (IHL, single season)
Home: Cow Palace — Daly City, CA

The Spiders played a single season in the International Hockey League in 1995–96, moving into the Cow Palace shortly after the San Jose Sharks vacated the building for their new arena. Owned by Tony Tavares and coached by Jean Perron, the club featured several former Sharks players, including Sandis Ozolinsh, David Maley, and Mike Lalor, and went 41–32–9 in its only season, reaching the playoffs before losing in the first round.

Despite the winning debut, thin local interest in a second Bay Area hockey team, financial losses, and arena conflicts at the aging Cow Palace ended the franchise after that one season.
