The Memphis Sounds played a single season in the ABA in 1974–75 at the Mid-South Coliseum as the rebranded continuation of the Memphis Tams under new co-owner Isaac Hayes. The Sounds finished 27–57 and the franchise relocated to Baltimore as the Hustlers / Claws for 1975–76 — where the team folded before playing a single regular-season game.
