About the Madison Monsters

The Madison Monsters were one of the most distinctive minor-pro hockey franchises of the late 1990s — a Colonial Hockey League / United Hockey League team based at the Dane County Coliseum in Madison, Wisconsin from 1995 to 2000. With memorable monster-themed branding and an entertaining brand of low-tier minor-pro hockey, the Monsters built a passionate local fanbase before financial pressure and league realignment ended the franchise after the 1999–2000 season. The Madison Monsters name and logo remain a beloved deep cut among Wisconsin hockey fans and minor-pro hockey collectors. Royal Retros honors the Monsters' five-season Madison run.
