Of all the football teams ever to play in San Antonio, and there were a lot, the Toros were probably the most beloved. That's largely because they lasted the longest, eight years, and won five championships. They played in a total of five minor league circuits starting in 1967. They folded when the Florida Blazers of the World Football League moved to town to become the San Antonio Wings.
