The Columbus Chill were one of the most beloved and irreverent franchises in East Coast Hockey League history, known as much for their outlandish promotions and the slogan "Not Your Common Cold" as for their play on the ice. From 1991 to 1999, the Chill made hockey a cultural event in Columbus, Ohio, drawing fans who might never have otherwise stepped foot in an arena and proving that minor league hockey could be as much entertainment as sport.
