Team: Topeka Scarecrows
Years Active: 1995–2001
Home: Kansas Expocentre Landon Arena — Topeka, KS

The Topeka Scarecrows brought professional hockey to the Kansas state capital in 1995, joining the revived Central Hockey League and playing at the Kansas Expocentre's Landon Arena. The club leaned into a Wizard of Oz–inspired identity, built around a scarecrow logo and Kansas-themed branding that became one of the most distinctive marketing efforts in 1990s minor-pro hockey.

The Scarecrows drew solid crowds across six seasons before financial pressure and league restructuring folded the franchise after the 2000–01 season. Their Oz styling remains one of the most-collected looks of the late-1990s CHL.

Vintage-inspired reproduction — not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any team, league, or organization. Used for historical and artistic purposes only.
